Peter Fortune MP has today welcomed Congressman Mike Haridopolos, the member of the United States House of Representatives for Florida's 8th Congressional District, to the Palace of Westminster.
Congressman Haridopolos has served in the House of Representatives since 2024 and serves as Chair of the Subcommittee on Space and Aeronautics. This was his first visit to the Palace of Westminster.
Peter Fortune gave him a tour of Parliament, including Westminster Hall, the House of Commons chamber and the House of Lords chamber. They also discussed the importance of the space industry to both the UK and US economies and the need for the UK and the US to work closer together in the coming years.
Speaking after the visit Peter Fortune said: "It was a real pleasure to welcome Congressman Mike Haridopolos to Parliament to show him around the Palace of Westminster.
"It was brilliant to discus the huge importance of the space industry to both the UK and US and how we can strengthen our two countries cooperation in this vital industry."
