Peter Fortune has today spoken in a debate in Westminster Hall on regenerating our highstreets.
The debate was called by the MP for Bromsgrove and Peter highlighted that 21.5 percent of his constituents are employed in the hospitality, retail and leisure industries. But that many businesses in Bromley have been suffering under the Government’s increased taxation.
Peter also highlighted the work of Opportunity Bromley and Your Bromley, drawing the House's attention to the event in Bromley organised by Your Bromley called Floral Fest, which transformed Bromley High Street with colourful planter displays inspired by this year’s theme, ‘Growing Together’.
Concluding his remarks in the debate Peter said: "We need our high streets, they are the centres of our communities, but if the Government does not see the pain they are inflicting on businesses up and down the country, they will ensure the death of the high street.
"I will always stand up for the small businesses that are the backbone of the economy in Bromley and Biggin Hill."
