Bromley and Biggin Hill MP Peter Fortune has announced the Crown and Anchor as the winner of his inaugural Bromley and Biggin Hill's Favourite Pub Competition.
There are 36 pubs in the Bromley and Biggin Hill constituency, employing over 1,000 local residents. Peter has been championing them in Parliament and calling on the Government to give them the support they deserve, but he also wanted to hear the views of his constituents. As such he announced this new local competition to showcase our local pubs and let local people have their say on their favourite.
Nearly 200 local residents voted for their favourite local pubs in a closely fought competition, but in the end, the Crown and Anchor secured the award.
Following the announcement, Peter Fortune MP said: "I want to thank everyone who took the time to vote for their local, our pubs in Bromley and Biggin Hill are hugely important to the local community and it is important that we celebrate them and all they contribute.
I also want to congratulate Martin and the whole team at the Crown and Anchor on their win. The Crown and Anchor embodies what a pub should be, putting community first. I was delighted to be able to hand the award over to Martin and of course I had to have a pint to celebrate with them too."
