In a debate in Parliament on fuel duty, Peter Fortune MP highlighted the Labour Government and Sadiq Khan's constant attacks on motorists. He highlighted that more than 80 percent of Bromley and Biggin Hill households have at least one car or van and Labour's decision to increase fuel duty would hit residents hard.
Speaking after the debate Peter said: "My constituents in Bromley and Biggin Hill have borne the brunt of Labour’s slew of anti-motorist policies and the impending rise in fuel duty is yet another attack on Bromley motorists.
"In Bromley and Biggin Hill we don't have the London Underground or DLR, Biggin Hill doesn't even have a train station, people are highly reliant on cars and the Labour party here and in City Hall need to understand that. The Government and the Mayor of London must end their war on motorists and scrap their fuel duty rise and any plans for further attacks on motorists before it’s too late."
