Peter Fortune MP has today called on the Prime Minister to fund research into Lobular Breast Cancer.
His question came as vigils were being held across Westminster for the 22 women who are diagnosed with lobular breast cancer every day. Some of those extraordinarily brave women were in the Gallery that afternoon to hear Peter's Question. When he raised this issue with the Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology, she promised to take action and not just commit words, so Peter called on the Prime Minister to commit to the Lobular Moon Shot Project’s plan to fund lobular breast cancer research.
Speaking afterwards Peter said: "The Lobular Moon Shot Project has a plan to fund critical research into lobular breast cancer. It is a disease often missed by screening and with no targeted treatment.
"Over 450 MPs have already backed the plan and I it is absolutely vital that the Prime Minister to commits to funding this research."
