Today I questioned Sadiq Khan - again - on his flagship ULEZ policy. We were concerned after leaked consultation results showed that 66% oppose his London-wide expansion. He asked us to believe that he had no knowledge of the consultation results, had not asked questions about them and would only make a decision once TfL had reported back. He claims that throughout the whole process no one has told him anything about the responses, and he has not asked. Not once.
As usual, Sadiq Khan tried to avoid answering my straightforward questions and once again resorted to childish insults in an attempt to distract and provoke. He may not take this seriously, but I do. We need to improve air quality in a way that will actually make a difference and will not result in the poorest Londoners being hit by extra road use charges. I am concerned that many who responded to the consultation will not have their voices heard. That is not acceptable.
