Protecting our local environment

Bromley, Hayes, Coney Hall, Keston, Bickley, Sundridge, Plaistow, Shortlands, and Biggin Hill are popular places to live, work and raise a family because they are green. Over half of the London Borough of Bromley is green belt, and a third is farmland.

London’s green belt protections have protected against unsustainable urban sprawl, preserved the unique character of local towns and villages, and guarded the countryside on our doorstep. I opposed the Labour government’s plans to weaken green belt protections and undermine local decision-making on what land is released for development.

Working with local community groups, I want to protect and restore our local environment, including nature conservation areas and ancient woodland.
